The V8 Battle

by Harri@Shmee150

Today on Shmee150.co.uk we will do something different from car spotting, a comparison between two lengendry sports cars.

Our first contender is from England and the coolest baby Aston Martin, the V8 Vantage -  it needs no introduction.

The second is an Italian hero from early in the 21st century. It has a V8 which produces 400hp and capable of 0 to 62mph in just 4.5 seconds. I think you can guess the car, it's the Ferrari 360 Modena from one of the world's greatest automakers.

Both of the cars cost the same when they were new and carry very similar used car sale values. Now you are probably thinking that Aston is front engined and the Ferrari is mid-engined, the Vantage is more of a GT car than the Ferrari and also more easy to use. At the other side, the Ferrari is the king of track. If you look closely at the performance figures, they are both the same and even their later and lighter versions are also the same. The V12 Vantage has a top speed similar to the Challenge Stradale.

Picking winner from these two is like choosing one from your arms and legs! If the question is in you mind why the German kid, the Audi R8.4.2l V8 is not is not in the comparison well the reason is simple, it doesn't offer anything different from these two heros. The Audi R8 is also not good as the Ferrari and the R8 V10 is a better car but I am talking about the V8 cars here.

Well there is always 1 winner so let's see, how they these two look like from the inside. The interior of the Aston Martin is a master class but some buttons and parts are taken from much cheaper cars. On the other hand, the interior of the Ferrari is simple but now it is outdated, but the feel you get while driving it is better and more soulful. The Ferrari also sounds better then the Aston Martin but Aston definitely has more beautiful looks. It's really hard for me pick to the winner!

I think its better to let you choose the winner, so I decided to pick by a poll on the Shmee150 Facebook page so head over and vote for your favourite car!
