For this special feature on Shmee150, we are going to have a look at supercars that we have totally forgotten about. Everybody is talking about the Pagani Zonda, Buggatti Veryon, Lamborghini Aventador etc and
most of us perhaps ignore the existence of cars like the British Jaguar XJ220 a car which broke all records when it first appeared and made the Lamborghini Diablo look like a normal car. Even now it still challenges the new Italian bull, the Aventador with the perfromance figures of both cars very similar. However the Jag is more rare than the Lambo and actually available for less.
This Jag also challanges the art of Horacio Pagani's Zonda, if we minimize the looks of Zonda the Jag can also beat it and hold its value better then the Lambo. Yes, I agree the looks of the Aventador are out of this world but the XJ220 has popup headdlights! None of the cars are practical for daily use though so if you want to became the spotlight of any event it has to be the Jaguar XJ220, cheaper and the best toy for any supercar event!
Over summer, every one of us was talking and dreaming about these two cars, the Pagani Zonda Cinque and Koenigsegg Agera R but only a few of us remember the fantastic Britsh supercar which is much rarer seen than some of these more modern machines while also still challenging them on any occasion.
Another car that isn't seen often (but did feature on the Top Gear test track), the Ascari A10 released in 2007 here are it's figures:
- Engine: 4,941 cc (302 cu in) V8
- Power: 625 bhp (466 kW; 634 PS) @ 7500rpm
- Torque: 413 lb·ft (560 N·m) @ 5500rpm
- 0-60 mph (0–97 km/h): 2.8 sec
- 0-100 mph (0–160 km/h): 5.8 sec
- 1/4 Mile (400m): 10.8 seconds at 138 mph (222 km/h)
- Top Speed: 220 mph (350 km/h)
The third and last car of this feature is the predecessor to car of the last decade the Bugatti Veryon, it's the Bugatti EB110 which was unveiled exactly 110 years after the birth of Ettore Bugatti. First off it is a 213mph car and takes just 3.4 seconds to get to 62mph which is still faster than many of it's Italian and Britsh rivals. Only 100 of these cars were ever made with even Michael Schumacher owning one. It is also strange why it never took any records but it's a very rare car that is both cheaper and faster than some of it's new generation rivals.Duer EB100 a lightweight version this car is capable of 230mph.
