Spotted For Sale: McLaren F1 GTR Longtail

Think the McLaren MP4-12C isn't fast, passionate, or iconic enough?

Fancy something with a bit more 'kick in the backside' and top end speed?

Well, look no further. There is now a McLaren F1 GTR Longtail, a fire-breathing, very rare, very expensive race car for sale.

Going under the hammer at a Bonhams auction at the Quail lodge in August, the F1 GTR is finished in a historic Gulf and Davidoff Livery that duly reflects the history of the car.

The car has the name 'Longtail' due to the aerodynamic tweaks and improvements over the normal F1 GTR, and is 1 of only 10 cars in existence.

Expect high prices. The last time this car went on auction, the asking price was said to be around $4,000,000. That is a lot.

This time around it is expected to fetch more than that this time around, because typically a classic car tends to get more expensive with time.

The Auction will take place on 17th August 2012

Spotted For Sale: Wrecked Ferrari F430

Today's 'spotted for sale' is of a wrecked yellow Ferrari F430, that seems to have been rear ended quite terribly.

The car is in a very sorry state and has taken a lot of damage to both the front and the rear, suggesting a spin of sorts.

The drive ability of the car is questionable from the damage and one wonders, who would pay £39,990 for a broken car.

Maybe its being sold for salvageable parts? Who knows.

What we do know is, this car is a mess.

Spotted for sale: Ayrton Senna's First F1 Car

Here we have the late Ayrton Senna's first F1 car, the Toleman TG184-2.

This car helped Senna reach a couple of milestones, such as claiming second place at the Monaco GP in 1984, and essentially being the car that started Sennas F1 career.

This is such an iconic car and it has been lovingly recommissioned and is drivable.

The car is offered by Silverstone Auctions, and will go under the hammer at the Spring Sale on 16 May.

This car will most likely fetch a high price, along with most other Ayrton Senna Memorabilia.

Spotted for Sale: Written-Off Vanquish

The world of the used car market is an incredibly deceptive and dangerous one, take a look at this advert for a 2003 Aston Martin Vanquish - all sounds brilliant, right? Lots of money recently spent on it and consumables replaced to make it a great buy...

WRONG!

Some researching finds this thread on Pistonheads.com where we can read that this car was recently written-off on a trip through France; with the wheels torn off after hitting concrete on the Autoroute and being left on just the chassis.

The internet can be a crafty place, nowhere does it mention the car's history and what happened to it leading in a new buyer completely unaware as to where their £56,990 is going.
