Houdini's wand, Washington's axe, and this 1931 Cadillac... not much original material to the item you see that is called the original, it's all been replaced I think

well, there wasn't much left of a Cadillac was there? And engine block, exhaust manifolds, steering, front fenders... but was any of that kept? Regardless, the car that was made is magnificent, and the call sheet says it was a 31 year job to make it as you now see it displayed below

see it and marvel at what a beautiful car it is, at the San Diego Auto Museum

one of 304, 1958 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham

what they left off this call out card is extensive, but in a nutshell it was the most expensive car made that year:  $13,074... for the 1958 Cadillac Brougham. $2000 more than the Rolls Royce that year (Hot Rod Deluxe May 2008, Page 42)

I posted a good gallery of a 1957 Eldorado Brougham a couple years ago http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2008/05/most-expensive-car-made-in-1957.html

Some pretty Cadillacs at the Graystone Mansion Concours

sorry this one is fuzzy, not easy to see a postage stamp sized image in the sunlight
Machine turned dash, and cool gauges. Sweet

So way up above on the old Caddy is a Fleetwood tag, here's a model tag and since I've never seen one before, I took this photo. Biarritz is a town on the Bay of Biscay in south France.
the Cadillac Eldorado is the longest running model in American personal luxury cars, 1953 to 2002. The Biarritz was the convertible version of the Eldorado Seville hardtop

1940 Cadillac, series 90, V16, and a back seat that couches are envious of

Some cars are claimed to be restored, but how many have the World War 2 gas rationing stickers? How many have factory lubrication tags? I like that these are in old cars, it give that car a individuality that perfect museum car lack.

 roll top ashtrays. nice
this is the first Caddy I've found to have this clock on the divider wall
just over the far armrest you see the micrphone the passengers would talk to the driver with when the privacy window was up
