An MP4 owner has recently published a copy of a letter he received from McLaren stating that he will be able to have a free 25PS upgrade on his MP4-12C, which takes the car to a "class leading 625PS" which is 616bhp, putting the MP4-12C a whole 46bhp ahead of its nearest rival, the Ferrari 458 Italia. This upgrade is free to all McLaren owners, which is a wonderful gesture from McLaren as its unlikely that any other manufacturer would do such a thing for free.
McLaren are also offering several other upgrades that initial owners have requested. They include remote opening passenger door, programmable engine note, enhanced equalization options on the Meridian surround sound system and an upgraded IRIS infotainment system.
These upgrades will start in October from official McLaren Dealerships.
