Audi has released some news that will set the blood of many a supercar fan racing. The firm’s R8 model is undergoing some heavy updates, and the revised model will be on sale in the autumn.
The R8 has been criticised in the past for its lack of a twin-clutch automatic gearbox, which allows for heart-poundingly quick gear changing, and it seems that Audi has finally paid heed. In addition to the obligatory styling changes (new front light profile, improved interior and the like), the auto maker is virtually re-engineering the whole of the car’s rear.
The engine carrier and suspension are being revised so that the R8 has room for the larger, heavier twin-clutch gearbox and buyers can also expect an increase in power, from 525 to 540bhp in the V10 model. No prices have been announced yet, but the space should be well worth watching if you’ve got your eye on this gorgeous supercar.
