A Day with Shmee - Part 1

A few days ago I had the opportunity to meet up with Shmee for a day of car spotting and a ride in his Aston.

So we got the beautiful blue V8 Vantage out of the garage, dropped the top, and off we went around London, and unknown to us, what started as a cold February day developed into a quite exciting one. I recorded the thunderous start up of the Aston just before we went on out way.

I noticed a few things in the first few moments of being in the car. The Shmeemobile is loud, the sound is enveloping and glorious, and the interior is stunning. So, on we went on our way, driving through central London, Shmee gave a few revs of the engine and even within the constraints of city 30mph speed limits the accelerations were extremely exciting, every time. 

As we drove along we came across many different amazing cars, the first off which happened to be a white Bugatti Veyron Super Sport! Seeing this driving past made both of us excited, very excited indeed. We tried to follow it to get some footage, but it eluded us.

Going through London is always fun, because there are almost always astounding cars just around the corner. We'd drive along and see an awesome car and stop safetly nearby and take a picture or Shmee would record a video to upload. On this occasion we came across a lovely Ferrari 599 GTO parked up. What happened next was nothing short of spectacular. As luck would have it, another GTO accelerated past us, allowing Shmee to capture two GTO's in one shot! It was amazing.

More on the Aston Martin, propelled by the sonorous 4.7l V8 engine, every pedal touch was noticed, the engine loud and clear, the ride quality amazing. 

Driving through London, the car at times felt like a plane, the rush, the adrenaline, the feeling off takeoff. It was all there, even at London speeds. every second in the car, the undying thirst for all things automotive was being met, quenched, whatever you want to call it. London is an amazing place, but this car, made it even better. I guess that's why Astons are designed. To bring a smile to your face. Enough of the poetry, here are some other cars we came across.
