Today on Shmee150 I'm going to find the world's best hypercar. You might think that's an easy question but I'm going to show you some alternatives and try to find the world's most practical hypercar which fits into every car category. Well let's start with the Bugatti Veyron, firstly it's the fastest of them all, acceleration is out of this world, 0 to 62 mph taking a mere 2.5 seconds but it is not even remotely practical. There are other hypercars of similar prices too like the very expensive Koenigsegg Agera which offers similar drama with a similar price tag.
So they've had the chance for it but let me come to my point, I'm talking about a hypercar which is very fast with a high top speed, but is also very practical. I am thinking about a four seat, four wheel drive supercar; the Nissan GT-R - arguably the world's cheapest hypercar. It is economical, practical with 4 seats that can easily seat 4 people and performance figures to rival significantly more expensive cars. 0 to 62mph is just 2.7 seconds and the top speed of 200 mph is enough for any hypercar.
Many times, the GTR has beaten all the overpriced heroes like the Veyron, Pagani Zonda, Ferrari 599 GTO and the fastest ever Porsche, the Carrera GT as well as many others at the Top Gear test track. According to Jeremy Clarkson it is the most amazing car in the world.
You might be thinking that beating other cars by lap time doesn't necessarily make it the greatest car in the world. Well it is the fastest Asian car, it makes the Lexus LFA hopeless and that is 4 times more costly. It's also a lot faster than the World's coolest car of 2011; the Aston Martin One-77. There are plenty of supercars and hypercars in existance, check them all out in one video from London last year:
Many of the above shown cars can easily beat the GTR in terms of their top speeds but for most of us this isn't very important because there are very few places in the world where you can take a car to the top speed. This top speed is not the main point of everyone when looking for a hypercar, if it was then why do people prefer the slower Pagani Zonda and Aston Martin One-77 to some of their rivals like the faster Noble M600. Top speed is another name for sucide in my dictonary. I know some cars like Noble don't have traction control and even ABS so safe and cooler is definitely better.

The Nissan GTR is also cool and comfortable, and no problem in the looks department, so it's proven that Nissan is also cooler and safer, and it beats the McLaren MP4-12C in a small 0-30mph. At this point both you and I think that the GTR is the winner here, with 4 wheel drive which you can use on any kind of road and 4 seats in which the whole family can fit. It could be the winner but sadly it isn't able to win that easily...
Because there is also a German challenger, the Porsche 911 Turbo, as fast and similar to the GTR in every practical way but now there is problem, the GTR is nearly £30,000 cheaper and in my opinion it is better looking than the Porsche. But the GTR can't give the feel and greatness of the Porsche badge, but perhaps in this contest, feel and greatness is not the main issue. The GTR beats 911 Turbo by it's price, looks, passenger legroom and also the GTR has a big boot.
So to conclude I'm going to give the award to the GTR and on the subject, MrShmee150 has just had a ride in my choice of the World's Best Hypercar:

I know it's not fair to choose the worlds best hypercar myself and I know we cannot under-rate the Porsche, so again I'm going to let the more than 6,000 fans on Facebook make a decision by voting in the poll on the Shmee150 Facebook page; so head over now and vote for your favourite!
